Overview

Dharma Wellness ("the App") is a meditation timer and mindfulness app developed by Traditionally Different Technology LLC. Your privacy is fundamental to our design philosophy. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

The short version: Your data stays on your device. We don't collect, transmit, or sell any personal information.

Data We Collect

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following data exclusively on your device:

Meditation sessions — duration, date, sound selection, and session type
Journal entries — mood ratings and optional notes you write after sessions
Breathing exercise records — exercise type, duration, and completion status
User preferences — timer settings, sound choices, notification preferences
Streak and statistics — session counts, total minutes, and consecutive day tracking

This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. We do not operate servers that receive data from the App.

Health Data (Optional)

On iOS, the App can optionally write Mindful Minutes to Apple Health. On Android, the App can optionally integrate with Health Connect.

Health data integration is opt-in — you must explicitly grant permission
The App only writes health data (meditation minutes); it does not read your existing health records
Health data is managed entirely by Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android) and subject to their respective privacy policies
If you deny health data access, the App continues to function fully without it

iCloud Sync (iOS Only)

On iOS, your meditation data may sync across your Apple devices via iCloud. This sync is managed entirely by Apple and subject to Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to your iCloud data.

Data We Do NOT Collect

No personal information (name, email, phone number)
No location data
No device identifiers or fingerprinting
No usage analytics or telemetry
No crash reporting to external services
No advertising identifiers
No cookies or web tracking
No social media data

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. There are no SDKs from Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Facebook, or any other data collection service.

The only third-party integrations are:

Apple Health / Health Connect — optional, user-initiated health data writing (managed by Apple/Google)
App Store / Google Play — for purchase and download (managed by Apple/Google)

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your personal data with any third party. Period.

Data Retention and Deletion

All data is stored locally on your device. You can delete all App data at any time:

iOS: Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Dharma Wellness > Delete App
Android: Settings > Apps > Dharma Wellness > Storage > Clear Data
Individual entries: Use the App's journal and session history to delete specific entries

When you delete the App, all locally stored data is permanently removed.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. The App contains no user accounts, no social features, and no data collection mechanisms that could inadvertently capture children's data.

Security

Because all data is stored locally on your device, your data is protected by your device's built-in security features:

Device passcode/biometric lock
iOS Data Protection / Android file encryption
Keychain (iOS) for any sensitive preferences

We do not transmit data over networks, so there is no risk of interception in transit.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version at this URL and update the "Last Updated" date above. Material changes will be noted in the App's release notes.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other privacy regulations. Because we do not collect or store any personal data on our servers, most data subject requests are fulfilled by your device's built-in controls (deleting the app, clearing data).
